Barack Obama - The ladies of PWOC are proud to support Democratic cadidate Barack Obama. We'd love for others viewing this page to also pledge support and if not to Obama, support someone. We all have a voice and it cannot be heard if it is silent.

Kids Day Out - Was held April 19, 2008 at MLK Jr. Park in Memphis, TN. The event was successful. We thank Sophisticated Souls, Girlfriends Inc. and Little Girlfriends Inc. for coming out and participating in our 1st Annual Kids Day Out. We look forward to doing it again next year. He Said/She Said - This is a new concept for PWOC. He Said/She Said will be a section on our website where PWOC will post reviews of books from our reading list from males to add a male perspective. Any male wanting to participate please email the president at president@pwocbookclub.org Membership is not required to participate.
John Wooden - PWOC will attend a book release party for Mr. Wooden to celebrate the release of his third novel An Eye for A Deadly Eye which is a murder/mystery. The book is scheduled to be released March 31st. The party will take place in Memphis during the month of May
Kimberla Lawson Roby - PWOC will attend a book signing in Memphis, TN at the Sisterhood Showcase June 8, 2008.
Target House/Ronald McDonald House - PWOC is currently compiling a schedule of volunteer activities with the children and families staying at these houses. Please check back for more details as they become available.
National Book Club Conference - PWOC plans to attend The Annual 2008 National Book Club Conference held in Atlanta, GA August 1 -3 highlighting authors such as Eric Jerome Dickey, E. Lynn Harris, Terry McMillan, Kimberla Lawson Roby, and Pearl Cleage just to name a few.
Recruitment - As always, PWOC is looking for new members to add to our organization.
