Why are you a member of PWOC?:  I've loved to read since I was taught how to at an early age.  PWOC was founded to combine my love for reading and interaction with intelligent women like myself.  Also, I was born phenomenal.  I come from a historic line of strong, intelligent, ambitious, caring, nurturing women.  My ancestors passed on a legacy that I have embraced and I order my steps in the way of those before me.  Some may be content to just be a woman of color but I'm proud to be more.  I'm Phenomenal.  I am PWOC!

Why are you a member of PWOC? Reading is first and foremost fundamental. “They” say black folks don’t read. We read, we understand. PWOC proves the stereotypes wrong. So why don’t some of you reading this that is not a member come along and go with me………Let me show you how to become a phenomenal woman…PHENOMENALLY!

“Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.”
